If you aren’t blindly floating through your Springfield, PA home on autopilot, chances are good that you know what does and does not need a springtime upgrade.
Quick note: I’m assuming all who are reading this article are in agreement that Springtime is the time of year when upgrades and major replacement projects happen.
Okay, we’re in agreement. This is the time of year when the old, broken, outdated things get hauled to the yard sales, donation bins, and trash cans. This is also the perfect time of year to assess your home features for “what’s good” and “what could use a facelift.”
For the purpose of keeping this article funneled and concise, let’s focus on window treatments. How are yours? Is this the year your window treatments get replaced or do they measure up in their cohesiveness to your décor and needed functionality?
At Blinds & Drapery Showroom, our experts can help you answer this simple question: do my current treatments work for me? Now, don’t worry—we aren’t going to try to trick you into replacing your current treatments if they do in fact work for you! To help you decide whether or not the time has come to do a bit of shopping around, our team has created this short guide to help you determine what to do!
Question: Are your current window treatments warped, faded, or damaged in some way?
These three “markers” are tell-tale signs your treatments are due to be replaced.
- Warped: slats that are warped will not be able to function properly and can (and will, eventually) break mid-operation.
- Faded/discoloration: unfortunately, there really isn’t any good fix for this. Do note that older technology allowed for more easily faded and “yellowed” products in the industry because of less UV protection. These days, you can add UV inhibitors or select fabric materials for your treatments to avoid this issue altogether.
- Damaged: our team can assess whether a specific issue is “fixable” pretty quickly. Depending on the damage, we may or may not be able to offer a solution that allows you to keep your current window treatments. This is a case-by-case, so just give our team a call!
Question: Are your window treatments difficult to operate?
Significant effort to simply open your window treatments is a bad sign. Truth be told, you could be dealing with a damaged lifting mechanism that’s about to fully break or a cord issue—as in, it can’t support the weight of your blinds or drapes. Eventually, this difficulty will turn into an impossibility. Worse, the blinds could go kaput and fall down—a danger for you, your guests, your children, your pets… Inoperability is a big deal and a HUGE indicator the time may have come to replace your window treatments.
Can you answer “yes” to either of these two questions regarding your home window treatments in Springfield, PA? If so, please give the pros here at Blinds & Drapery Showroom a call!
