One of my personal favorite picks for window coverings is the plantation shutter. They are affordable and cost-effective, versatile, and add value to the home. In fact, here’s a little-known fact: plantation shutters can actually be financed into the purchase agreement for your home, should you look to sell one day. They’re that sought after and in demand!
Here at Blinds & Drapery Showroom, we love to brag on our clients and how they have designed their homes using our products and expertise—so, let’s take a quick look at how your Media, PA, neighbors are using plantation shutters in their homes!
The Kitchen
This is probably the #1 spot for plantation shutters in the home. The kitchen is, for many of us, the most nostalgic room in the entire house—and plantation shutters add to that nostalgia. Also, consider the depth of investment into resale of a home with this beautiful upgrade to the kitchen! Kitchens are widely known as the most significant room to potential buyers. Buyers want an upgraded kitchen with finishing touches. If your home has these, your asking price has room to soar!
Hardwood
Natural wood is a classic choice. They fit well in any traditional home and even most modern structures, too. Plus, you have many stain options to invite warmth and character into your space. Our Hunter Douglas Handcrafted Series line is incredibly popular (and has been for a long time). Why? Because it is a stunning selection of six artisan techniques which enhance the organic character of the hardwood. These techniques include:
- Glazed
- Glazed and burnished
- Classic distressed
- Heirloom distressed
- Rustic
- Textured
Color, color, color!
There is something truly special about a classic option with a modern and whimsical twist, like a bright color. We have worked with more and more families over the years opting for pops of color—red, green, peach, teal… even pink! This is an especially fun little project in a nursery or playroom. But, don’t think you have to have kids to add color! We support the color wheel, wholeheartedly!
White. Just white—EVERYWHERE
I am sure you have noticed the move toward white interior accents, as advised by HGTV Magazine, the DIY Network, and other home interior YouTube personalities. There are good reasons they are all encouraging white accents (trim, window treatments, blinds, shutters, crown molding, etc.)! It is beautiful. White plantation shutters are beautiful and timeless and easily accented by evolving décor. And, white opens a room into a seemingly bigger space. The B&D team here agrees: white plantation shutters to go with your white trim is a beautiful, cohesive look!
So, what do you think? Are you considering plantation shutters in Media, PA? Why don’t you stop on by our showroom and check out the options here at Blinds & Drapery Showroom? Our team is happy to answer any questions you may have and set up an in-home visit to assess and plan. We look forward to meeting you!
